    THESE ARE THE CHOICES!?!

    Central City's own 'American Gangster'

or The Poor Bayou Man's Sarah Palin

OUR VOTERS ARE A SMOKIN' HOT AZZ MESS!!

I thought we were talking about trying to upgrade here? You know - the city's been wiped out... We've got a chance to rebuild it the right way, get rid of what's been slowly killing us: corruption, cronyism, crime...

Is it really possible, given the level of on-your-face-in-the-mud suffering going on here, that the ones doing the worst would vote for the one doing the worst to us?!?

And the best thing you can say for the chosen alternative is that she's a fresh face that hasn't been caught in a lie yet?

Ugh! This city needs an intervention!

...and we'll hold it in the Superdome since apparently there are over 31,000 delusionals in our midst...

I'm suddenly reminded of a story I read about a month ago in the TP on this very topic and one commenter suggested the following strategy: If there is a runoff between Moreno and Jefferson, we should vote for Bill Jefferson. Then, once he goes to court and is found guilty, we'll have another election and a better shot at getting someone in with some real experience.

This is what it's come to people - we gotta tip toe around our neighbors and sneak credible leadership in through the back door.

I don't know about you, but I need an f*@&#ng drink...

Yeah, I know its Sunday morning. I'm making a stiff Bloody Mary - THEN I'm going to church.

Slidell Little Theatre's entertaining production of Neil Simon's Brighton Beach Memoirs opens Friday, October 10th. Directed by David Jacobs, Brighton Beach Memoirs centers on Eugene Jerome, a 15-year-old boy from 1937 Brooklyn who is just coming to terms with puberty, girls, the looming threat of World War II, and his extended Jewish family. In the audience

    by ~jehna~
    Saturday October 04, 2008, 11:49 PM

So I realized tonight, and actually awhile back but mostly tonight, that no matter what you can do on the stage, people will like/dislike what they like because it looks pretty (even if its not a good performer/place) or if they like/dislike the person or people responsible.

    by Paul Angelle
    Saturday October 04, 2008, 10:54 PM

"Austin Storms... He's a sleeper," said Mandeville High Head Coach Guy Lecompte. "He works so hard out there."
Storms, a senior safety for the Skippers, works hard all the time. He seems to always be in the right place on the football field. He helps lead the Fellowship of Christian Athletes at his school. He stocks produce at Winn Dixie. He also works as an instructor at his father's Karate Studio.

13 is definitely bad luck for OJ Simpson

    by Red Cotton
    Saturday October 04, 2008, 11:13 AM

Perhaps The Juice should have consulted his numerologist...

Yesterday on 10/3 - thirteen years to the day that he was found not guilty for murdering his wife and her lover, former NFL star OJ Simpson was found guilty of robbery, assault and kidnapping with a deadly weapon. It took the jury 13 hours to deliberate over the event that happened last year - on September 13th.

Simpson, 61, now faces a life sentence in jail.

Whew!! That karmic boomerang aint nothing nice!

Remember children: everything you do comes back to you, some day, some way...

Now go out and do some good deeds - lots of them!

September 08 Is OVER - Time To Shake It Off!

    by Red Cotton
    Friday October 03, 2008, 7:06 PM

Ooh My Lord but September '08 was rough! Honey it felt like everyone - including yours truly - was on straight stuck mode in the Axis of Evil:

Evacuation, Election, and the Economy. Ugh..

But guess what? There's a bigger, more powerful 'E' that can neutralize aaaall that bullshiz...

    It's called 'Eff It!!'

Babies, it's a new month, a New Year if you're Jewish, and new weekend in New Orleans, a place that's always pregnant and popping with fabulous, magical wilding-out possibilities. And I say we need to do a Mariah Carey "Shake It Off' and get out there into it this weekend.

Okay, so here's the Shake It Off Formula I'm currently working with. First off, whenever I get stuck in a dark gray funk, I put this song on, close my eyes and remind myself how truly blessed I am to still be living in New Orleans.

Cause we could have very well lost her...
